Most of the idyllic resort lies on a south-facing terrace above the Engstligental in the Bernese Oberland. Known for its family friendliness, the resort has no through traffic. The village lies at the end of a cul-de-sac at the foot of a mountain with enchanting views. Adelboden is 21 minutes by car (15.3 km) from Frutigen and 39 km away from Thun. All shopping facilities and services such as indoor swimming pool, fitness centre with solarium and massage can be found in the village. Pharmacy and doctors are also on site.
