This quiet mountain village is located in the Baiasca Valley 1,247 metres above sea level in the western Catalan Pyrenees in the Alt Pirineu Nature Park. The small village is located in the province of Lleida, eight kilometres from Llavorsí. All necessary services can be reached in the village or within a radius of 20 km.

Sights: After a hike through the pine forests, the St. Jaume chapel is about 500 metres higher. You will see it for the first time in the distance above the rocky southeast of the city of Arestui. In the chapel of Sant Jaume d'Arestui there is a viewpoint from where you can see the whole valley of Núria Garcia Quera. Baiasca, 3.6 km away, contains the oldest Romanesque paintings of Catalonia.
Llavorsí is also the canoeing and rafting centre of the entire Pyrenees. On 26 July the village festival takes place with an exhibition of Catalan shepherd dogs.
Lake Sant Maurici and the Aigues Tortes nature reserve are 30 km away. The "El Doctor Music Festival" takes place every July in Escalarre.
