Savukoski - Holiday Home beautiful landscape

Savukoski is a municipality with about 1000 inhabitants in the Finnish part of Lapland. With only 0.16 inhabitants / km², the population density is the lowest in Finland. There are ten times more reindeer than people living here. About 1/3 of the municipality consists of various National Parks. The landscape consists of wilderness, vast marshes and wetlands, numerous rivers and single fells. The most famous fell in Savukoski is the 486 meter high Korvatunturi on the Finnish-Russian border. According to finnish folklore Santa Claus lives here with his reindeer and little helpers. Savukoski offers a variety of activities, such as hiking, canoeing, fishing and hunting. In winter you can go snowshoeing, snowmobiling or go for a reindeer- or huskysafari.
